Everything is possible! This is how Alexander Koyré seeks to synthesize the troubled, chaotic and irregular period of the renaissance. Period when the West needed to rediscover itself. There is, in this scenario, a curious opposition between contemplation and technique, science and mysticism, freedom and censorship. The process of breaking with the past seems to happen in a scenario haunted by old ghosts. Although there was some dissatisfaction with the Aristotelian-Ptolemaic model, it was still the basis of Renaissance astronomy, and its defenders sought to propose alternatives that preserved the Aristotelian-Ptolemaic model. In this aspect, many adjustments were made, however, both Aristotelian mechanics and the Ptolemaic cosmos model began to arouse doubts and questions. It is in this socio-cultural, political and scientific scenario that we intend to investigate the importance of the Copernican model of the cosmos. A model that envisions new possibilities for interpreting the cosmos, bringing in this movement of rupture an entire socio-cultural framework circumscribed in the Renaissance period. Therefore, we investigate how the development of science takes place in this environment, between the urge to reinterpret the cosmos and the shackles of the past.
