LITERATURE AND ASTRONOMY: A DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS OF THE STORY OUR SOLAR SYSTEM FROM THE WORK SERÕES BY DONA BENTA DE MONTEIRO LOBATO

UMA ANÁLISE DESCRITIVA DO CONTO “O NOSSO SISTEMA SOLAR” DA OBRA SERÕES DE DONA BENTA DE MONTEIRO LOBATO

Abstract

The present study aimed to analyze the possible relationships between the short story O Nosso Sistema Solar from the work Serões by Dona Benta de Monteiro Lobato with the theme of Astronomy. The methodological approach for the constitution and analysis of data was qualitative, specifically descriptive. As for the procedures, we used documentary research. The data were analyzed under the theoretical lens of Bardin's content analysis (1977) and based on this theory, we studied three categories of analysis established a priori: Category I. Evolution of stars, Solar Spectrum and Sunspots; Category II. Solar System and Category III. Planets and Exoplanets. The analysis of our research data allows us to infer that the short story performs the role of both Children's Literature and didactic material and provides conditions for teaching and learning astronomical concepts. The main contributions of this work are related to offering conceptual subsidies for teachers to incorporate the short story into their curriculum proposal, highlighting some possibilities of intersection between Monteiro Lobato's Children's Literature and the area of ​​Education in Astronomy.
